My childrens grandfather served in Vietnam war

I know how a son feels inside his heart
The wish to see his father was unsatisfied
He was gone to Vietnam war
Left the mother with the man-child behind
They got devorced
He never took care of the family
My husband was looking to find his father again
His father returned to USA

He didn't die
But the ribbon was spoiled
They never found together again
For what the grandfather of my children he was fighting for?
My husband died years before
The contact to his father died forever.

I don't know you
You don't know me and your grandchildren too
May be you are still alive
